In 1996, the UC Berkeley International Training and Research Program in Environmental and Occupational Health (ITREOH) was established with activities in India and funding from the Fogarty International Center of NIEHS.  Joining a national program of 17 U.S. institutions, the ITREOH at UC Berkeley aims to equip select graduate-student trainees with the skills and resources to address occupational and environmental health problems in their own countries. Worldwide collaborations include those with institutions in India, Nepal, and China. For a full listing of collaborators, click here.

ITREOH is one of several projects under the principal direction of Dr. Allan H. Smith of the Arsenic Health Effects Research Program.
