Es posible mirar el mundo con ojos de mujer como propone el Foro de ONGs, paralelo a la IV Conferencia Mundial en Beijing, China?
TAFOS (Talleres de Fotografía Social) y la Coordinadora Regional para América Latina y El Caribe, decidieron demostrar que si a través de esta exposición que reúne 67 imágenes de mujeres vistas por mujeres.
Mujeres negras, mestizas, blancas. Mujeres de los Andes, de la Amazonía, del Caribe; de las grandes ciudades y las mas alejadas comunidades. Aparecen ante nuestros ojos a través de la mirada de 43 fotógrafas que han logrado perennizar en segundos la forma de vivir, sentir y amar de las mujeres de esta región.
Esta exposición quiere tender un puente hacia las mujeres de todas las regiones de mundo, sabiendo que el poder de la imagen esta mas allá de barreras lingüísticas y culturales. Es un intento de mostrarnos en nuestra diferencia y de unirnos en nuestra semejanza: es una propuesta de comunicación.

WOMEN'S EYES
Is it possible to look at the world through women's eyes, as proposed
by the NGO Forum which was held in Beijing parallel to the Fourth World
Conference on Women?
TAFOS (Social Photography Workshops) and the Latin American and Caribbean
Regional Coordination decided to show that it is posible, and have prepared
this exhibition which gathers 67 images of women as seen by women.
Black, white and mestizo women, women from the Andes, from the Amazon,
from the Caribbean, from large cities and from remote communities appear
before our eyes through the images of 43 women photographers who have
suceeded in capturing the diverse ways of living, feeling and loving of
women in our region.
This exhibition wishes to extend a bridge to women from all over the world,
knowing that the power of the image is far beyond language and cultural
barriers. It is an attempt to show ourselves in our differences and to
unite us in our similarities: it is a communication proposal.
