Recollections of College El

Only now, I suppose, do we really begin to appreciate how forturnate we were to go there.  Education like that is not available for any price.  We were taught by the teachers' teachers, plus had small group instruction with student teachers.  What price would you put on that?  Private schools today would stretch to match what the College El provided.

I guess one of my favorite memories was the fall camps.  It was so much fun to be outside.  Imagine, a week of school in the woods.  I also remember how the nurse took our temperature before we could go, and how disappointed I was that I had a slight fever and couldn't go until the following day.

Oh yes, one more memory.  I have, yes, have my special certificate of service for SAFETY PATROL signed by Jack Anson.  Wouldn't we all agree being a safety patrol was a real highlight of those sixth grade years!

Personal News

The years have slipped away, it seems.  I married Roger Anderson on our college graduation day in 1964.  We both have Masters Degrees from The Ohio State University, and Roger has his Doctor of Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center.  Roger is the Head of the Pharmacy for the University of Texas M.D.Anderson Cancer Center. It is a huge hospital and is known the world over for the treatment of cancer.

I taught school for awhile here in Texas.  Now I sell some real estate with Coldwell Banker United.  Last year we sold our home (after 21 years) and moved to a three story townhouse within a mile or so of the downtown skyscrapers.  Roger has only a short drive to work so he is one happy man.

Our children, Kathy and Douglas, are married and happy.  We have several grandpets and a beautiful step-granddaughter.

Our house at 1014 S. University is still there, now surrounded with student housing.  I would love to see you.  The phone number is still under Marks in the phone book.
