Also useful, if old, are Anthony Sampson’s The Seven Sisters (1976), and John M. Blair, The Control of Oil (1978). Somewhat interesting in the light of current events is Øystein Noreng, Oil and Islam: Social and Economic Issues (New York: John Wiley & Sons, 1997).
