About Launch Day

This special event is designed to give incoming first year and transfer students a glimpse into the physical sciences at Cal.  It features fun, informal activities to introduce new students to the Physics, Astronomy and EPS departments and allows students to mingle with other incoming students, faculty, graduate and current students. Over 60 students attended Launch Day 2005!

Check out the photo gallery from Launch Day 2005 to see just how much fun you could be having this year.

There are several events happening all afternoon and evening.  You may choose to attend only the events of which you find most useful, but we highly encourage you to stay for the whole day.  There is a lot of information, free food and awesome people to meet that you do not want to miss out on!

This event is hosted by the Society for Women in the Physical Sciences (SWPS) and supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF).
