Abuse and Illegal Activity on your Socrates Account

Email Abuse

Abuse and the misuse of campus computing resources has become an increasing concern as email and other electronic services have become widely used as a means of communication. There is a article published in the Berkeley Computing & Communications Newsletter discussing how to filter out many types of unwanted email messages. You can view this article at: http://istpub.berkeley.edu:4201/bcc/Summer98/gen.spam.html

Currently there are no specific guidelines as to the specific handling of unwanted (spam) email, except for individual system policies, that govern electronic use. For the most up-to-date campus policies, see http://socrates.berkeley.edu/policy.html for more information.
