Passwords must be constructed to meet the following requirements:
8 characters long.
Contain at least two alphabetic characters and at
least one numeric or special character. In this case, "alphabetic" refers
to all upper or lower case letters. Unix passwords are case-sensitive,
that is, uppercase and lowercase letters are not equivalent.
Can not contain your login, spelled backwards, forwards, in an combination of upper or lower case.
Make sure to use a password that is hard for others to guess; e.g. don't
use your birthday or license number. Memorize it; don't write it down. Do
not type your password in when other people are watching you and if you use
a public machine, do not leave your computer unattended while logged into
your Socrates account.
