Socrates Email Migration
Current Email Migration Status:
Friday, April 29, 1:30pm:
The Email Migration is complete. All Socrates mailboxes have been migrated to Calmail. Socrates email is being delivered to the Socrates domain on CalMail. You can access your @socrates.berkeley.edu email by using the CalMail web interface at https://calmail.berkeley.edu and entering username@socrates, where username is your Socrates login. You can also access your email via your pop client, provided you reconfigure your pop client. Link to instructions below. BearMail is once again working for Socrates accounts

Updated Migration Information
Special Notice for Socrates APOP Users
Some Socrates users have reported problems with their password when trying to login to CalMail and use their Socrates Email. These users had been using APOP on Socrates prior to the migration. The CalMail system does not support APOP. If you are a Socrates APOP user you will need to reset your password. You can do so via the BiLink webpage .
Socrates vacation messages and .forward files no longer frozen
In preparation for the Email Migration on April 24, we "froze" the vacation and .forward info for Socrates users. Now that the migration is nearly complete, you can use CalMail's vacation and forwarding tools to change your vacation message and forwarding options. Please see the Manage Your Account Page for details. The unix vacation command is no longer available.
Socrates Email Migration FAQ and Product Support Chart Available
The fourth edition of the Socrates Email Migration FAQ is now available. If you have a question about the Email Migration, it's probably been answered here. We also have a Email Support Chart that lists Socrates email products and services and whether or not they will work after the migration.
