Dr. Driver worked in direct services with older adults as a psychiatric social worker in San Diego County's Mental Health Department on its Senior Services Outreach Team, and as a case manager in the Multipurpose Senior Services Program developed in 1981 by the State of California to prevent premature institutionalization of California's older, frail MediCal population. She belongs to numerous professional associations, has served on various boards and committees of organizations that serve older adults, has authored or co-authored several journal articles, is currently editor of the UC Berkeley Resource Center on Aging e-mail newsletter, and maintains the Center's WEB site and jobs in aging in California email list. She has been the editor of various other newsletters, and has edited proceedings of several conferences held by the Center, has also given talks on long-term care in the United States throughout the years, and was invited to speak on the subject to the Directors of Social Services in England at their annual meeting.
Dr. Driver is married and has two grown children.
