[NB: In the course of this Indenture mention is made of a Lady Bulbecke: by this is meant the wife of Edward Lord Bulbecke if he should marry prior to the death of his father. Since he did not marry before the death of his father, there never was a Lady Bulbecke. - AHN]

Closing Provisions

Provyded alwayes and yt is the full true and playne meanyng and intente of the sayd Erle and also yt is fully graunted and agreyd betwene the sayd parties that the sayd Erle shall and may at his free will and pleasure lett and graunte for the t{er}me of twenty and one yeares or fewer such parte of the p{re}misses as have by the space of fforty yeares last past heretofore bene moste comonly vsed to be letten for yeares or lyves reserving vppon the same seu{er}all leases and graunt{es} yearly to contynue duryng the seu{er}all t{er}mes and leases hereafter to be made the olde accustomed rent{es} and suytes or more

And that the same lease leases graunte and graunt{es} so of the same p{re}misses or any parte thereof to be made as is aforesaid shalbe as good avayleable and effectuall in the lawe to all intent{es} purposes and construcc{i}ons agaynste hym the sayd Erle and the heires males of his body laufully begotten the sayd Edwarde lorde Bulbecke and the heires males of his body laufully begotten the sayd Countesse of Oxinford the lady Bulbecke and the brethern of the sayd Erle and the yssues males of eu{er}y one of the bodyes of the same brethern of the sayd Erle to the same leases and graunt{es} and eu{er}y of them, thexecutors and assignes of eu{er}y of them as if the same Erle were seased of such parte of the p{re}misses as he shall lett or graunte as is aforesaid in his demesne as of fee at the tyme of the makyng of the same leases or graunt{es}

And also yt is the full and playne meanyng and intente of the sayd Erle and also yt is fully concluded graunted and agreyd betwene all and singuler the parties to these p{re}sent{es} that the sayd Erle shall and may at his free wyll and pleasure hereafter geve graunte assigne or appoynte thoffyce and Offices of Baylywycke and Baylywyck{es} of any & of so many of his sayd manors land{es} ten{emen}t{es} and hereditament{es} and of kepyng and keper and kepers of any & of so many of his park{es} with thaccustomed ffee & fees belongyng to any of the sayd Offices to any or such of his s{er}uant{es} or any p{er}son or p{er}sones as shall please and like the sayd Erle for lyfe or lyves and that eu{er}y p{er}son and p{er}sones to whom the sayd Erle shall so geve graunte assigne or appoynte to have any of the sayd Offices and ffees shall and may duryng his or their lyfe or lyves accordyng to such gyfte graunte assignment and appoyntemente have holde occupye and enioy quietly the same Office Offices ffee and ffees agaynst the sayd Erle and the heires males of his body laufully begotten the sayd Edwarde lorde Bulbecke and the heires males of his body laufully begotten the sayd Countesse of Oxinford the sayd lady Bulbecke the sayd brethern of the sayd Erle and the issues males of eu{er}y of their bodyes laufully begotten in like manner and forme as they or any of them shulde might or coulde have had enioyed or hold the same yf the p{re}misses or any parte thereof had not bene entayled by these p{re}sent{es} as is aforesaid

And yt is further coven{au}nted graunted and agreyd betwene the sayd parties by these p{re}sent{es} that aswell the sayd Erle his heires and assignes as also all and eu{e}ry other p{e}rson and p{er}sones which hereafter shalbe seased of the sayd honours Castell{es} manors land{es} ten{emen}t{es} and hereditament{es} or of any parte or parcell thereof of any estate of Inheritaunce, shall fromhensforth stande and be thereof seased and that all conveyaunce and assuraunce at any tyme heretofore made and hereafter to be made had or suffred of the p{re}misses or of any parte thereof by fyne feoffament recoverey or otherwise shalbe to thonely vses and intent{es} before in these p{re}sent{es} declared and exp{re}ssed and to none other vses or intent{es} In wittnes whereof the parties before named to eyther parte of these Indentures have put their seales the day and yeare above written.
