And the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley coven{au}nteth & graunteth for him & his assignes by these p{rese}nt{es} that he ye said lorde Rob{er}te Dudley & his assignes ou{er} & besides the said Rente before Res{er}ued shall also contente & pay to the Rec{eiver} gen{er}all of ye said Courte to thuse of o{u}r said soueraigne ladye or of hir heires & successor{es} all such som{m}es of monye w{hi}ch shall hereaft{er} be founde due & paiable for ye meane Rat{es} & p{ro}fit{es} of ye said Lordshippes Mano{res} Land{es} & other ye p{re}miss{es} w{i}t{h} thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} from ye laste halfe yere of ye said terme vntill such time as the said Lordshippes Mano{res} land{es} & other ye p{re}miss{es} w{i}th thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} be p{ro}secuted & had out of thand{es} & possess{ion} of o{u}r said soueraigne ladye or of hir heires & success{ors} by liu{er}ye ousterlemayn CHECK or oth{er}wise accordinge to thorder of the lawe
And ye said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley Coven{au}nteth & graunteth for him & his assignes by these p{rese}nt{es} y{a}t he the said L{ord} Roberte Dudley & his assignes duringe the said terme shall at his & their owne p{ro}per Cost{es} & Chardges make or cause to be made alle man{er} of necessarye & nedefull Rep{ar}ac{i}ons in & vpon ye said Lordshippes manor{es} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} w{i}th thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} when & as often as nede shall Require
Excepte vpon ye mano{ur} of Hedingh{a}me & Earles Colne aforesaide w{i}t{h} thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} for w{hi}ch the said lorde Rob{er}te Dudley shall haue all suche som{m}es of mony as he shall necessarylye imploye vpon the said ij howses accordinge as shalbe Thoughte mete & necessarye for the said M{aste}r & Councell for the time beinge & so sufficientlye Repaired in th'end of the said terme shall leaue the same & shall dischardge contente & paye yerelye all Rent{es} Resolutes & other Chardges other then xthes lawfully demaunded & goinge out of the said Lordshippes mano{res} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} w{i}th thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} And likewise also shall from time to time p{er}mitte & suffer the said feodaryes for the time beinge to s{ur}uay the said Lordshippes manor{es} & land{es} aswell for the knowledge of ye p{er}formance of ye Coven{au}nt{es} cont{ained} in This Indenture on the behalfe of ye said lorde Rob{er}te Dudley & his assignes as of all wast{es} incom{m}odities hurt{es} & decayes allredye fallen & whiche may arise & growe to th'indraunce of the said heire or to thimparem{en}te of the Q{ueens} ma{ies}t{ies} Righte & p{ro}fite & shall at all times hereaft{er} be contented to Receue & fulfill all suche further orders w{hi}ch the said M{aste}r & Councell shall take for the Redres of any defaulte founde by the said s{ur}uaye as neither the Q{ueens} M{aies}t{ie} nor hir hignes said warde do sustayne any losse or p{re}iudice by their negligence or for lacke of their helpe to whome the Chardge therof app{ur}teyneth
And the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley Coven{au}nteth & graunteth for him & his assignes by these p{rese}nt{es} y{a}t if at any time hereaft{er} by the said s{ur}uay of the M{aste}r & Councell or any other by them authorised it be founde that ye said manor{es} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} w{i}t{h} thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} were of better or more yerely value or Rente at the time of the makinge hereof then the Rente before Res{er}ued doth amounte vnto or that anie Rente or p{ro}fitte whereof the Q{ueens} ma{ies}tie oughte to be answered be omitted & not trulye Res{er}ued vpon this Lease that then the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley & his assignes shall contente & paye yerely duringe the said terme to the said feodaryes for the time beinge to hir highnes vse at the feast{es} before limited for paym{en}te of the said Rente ye ou{er}plus founde by the said survaye to be aboue the said Rente of DCCCiijli ixs viijd ob & aboue ye p{ro}fit{es} of ye Court{es} P{ar}k{es} or the demeane land{es} belonginge or app{ur}teininge to the said Earles houses & shall likewise Contente & paye tharr{era}ges of ye same ou{er}plus from the beginninge of this lease & graunte
And the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley Coven{au}nteth & graunteth for him & his assignes by these p{rese}nt{es} that he the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley & his assignes shall Cause ye Court{es} heretofore had & vsed vpon ye said mano{res} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} w{i}t{h} thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} to be yerely kepte by the Stuardes of ye said Edwarde now Erle of Oxford or by such other as shalbe appointed by the said M{aste}r & Counsell ye Courte Roll{es} ingrossed & surely laid vp together w{i}t{h} all oth{er} Evidence{es} or writinges Cominge to thand{es} of ye said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley or his assignes concerninge thinheritance of ye said heire as the [=they] may Come to him at the time of his full age w{i}t{h}out concealem{en}t imbeasillinge or losse of them or any p{ar}cell of them to the knowledge of the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley or his assignes And further also y{a}t neither he the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley or his assignes shall do or suffer to be done any stripe waste spoile ruyne or disorder vpon ye said mano{res} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} w{i}t{h} thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} or any p{ar}te thereof as wittinglye decaye any Rente or service belonginge to the same nor expell or put oute any ten{au}nte or ten{au}nt{es} holdinge any p{ar}te of ye p{re}miss{es} other then suche as holde the p{ar}k{es} & demayne land{es} of the said now Earle ______ as they shall fall duringe the minoritie of the said heire w{i}t{h}oute knowledge & agrem{en}te of the said M{aste}r & Councell for ye time being

And yf at anye tyme hereaft{er} duringe the said terme any stripe waste spoile disorder intrusion or incrochem{en}t be vnlawfullye done or made vpon the said Mano{res} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} w{i}t{h} thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} or any p{ar}te or p{ar}cell thereof to the p{re}iudice of the inheritaunce of the said heire That then the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley & his assignes as muche as in him & them lyeth shall w{i}t{h}stande & defende the same & for lacke of powre & sufficient authoritie so to do shall fortw{i}t{h} [sic] aft{er} knowledge thereof had certifie the same to the M{aste}r & counsell aforesaid for the tyme beinge & Receave & p{ro}sequute forth theire order for the Reformac{i}on thereof to & for thadvauncem{en}t of the Q{ueens} ma{ies}t{ies} interest & Righte & for the safegarde of thinheritaunce of the said heire
And it is agreed on the behalfe of the Q{ueens} ma{ies}tie by the said M{aste}r & Counsell that the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley & his assignes duringe the said terme shall haue & take vpon the said mano{res} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} by thassignem{en}t of the said M{aste}r & Counsell for the tyme beinge or any other by them authorised sufficiente housbote firebote hedgebote ploughbote & Cartebote onelye to be vsed & expended in & aboute the said mano{res} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} w{i}t{h} thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es}
And the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley Coven{au}nteth & graunteth for him & his assignes by these p{rese}nt{es} that he the said L{ord} Rob{er}te D{udley} & his assignes shall not geue graunt Com{m}itt bargaine or sell this lease or his interest in the same to any p{er}son or p{er}sons w{i}t{h}out knowledge & agrem{en}t of the said M{aste}r & Councell for ye time beinge & shall once in eu{er}ye yere during the said terme bringe or sende to thaudito{ur} gen{er}all of the said Courte of Ward{es} & liu{er}yes his acquittanc{es} declaringe paym{en}te of the Rente before Res{er}ued or hereaft{er} growinge vpon this lease And also bringe the same lease w{i}t{h}in one halfe yere nexte aft{er} the date thereof to haue the same there Inrolled as the same audito{ur} maye haue p{er}fecte knowledge & vnderstanding howe to Chardge & allowe the said Rente or other Chardge arisinge vpon the same lease at all tymes when nede shall Require
And it is p{ro}uided in the behalfe of the Q{ueens} ma{ies}tie by the said M{aste}r & Councell y{a}t if at any tyme hereaft{er} duringe the said terme it fortune the said Rente of DCCCiijli ixs viijd ob to be behinde vnpaide in p{ar}te or in all aft{er} anye of the said feast{es} in the w{hi}che it oughte to be paide by the space of ij monethes or if any of the said Coven{au}nt{es} be broken vnkepte & not Reformed w{i}t{h}in iij monethes nexte aft{er} lawfull warninge to him or them thereof geven that then this p{rese}nte lease to be voyde & of none eff{e}cte
And y{a}t it shalbe lawfull for the said M{aste}r & Councell for the tyme beinge or any other by them authorised into the said manor{es} land{es} & other the p{re}miss{es} w{i}t{h} thapp{ur}ten{au}nc{es} & eu{er}ye p{ar}te thereof not onlely to Reenter and the same to Repossede [=Repossess] & continue to thuse of the Q{ueens} ma{ies}tie but also to distreyne the good{es} & Catall{es} of the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley & his assignes & the same to driue awaye w{i}t{h}holde bargayne & sell to thuse of the Quenes ma{ies}tie vntill hir highnes be fully answered & paide aswell of the Rent{es} & of tharr{era}g{es} thereof as of the value of the detrim{en}t & damage sustayned by the breakinge of the said Coven{au}nt{es} or of anye Clause or article before menc{i}o{n}ed this lease or any thinge therin Cont{ained} to the Contrarye notwithstandinge.
In witnes wherof to th'one p{ar}te of these Indentures Rem{aining} w{i}t{h} the said L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley o{u}r said soueraigne ladyes seale of hir grac{es} Courte of Ward{es} & liu{er}yes w{i}t{h} th'advice of the M{aste}r & Councell of hir grac{es} said Court is affixed & sett & to th'other p{ar}te Rem{aining} w{i}t{h} o{u}r said soueraigne lady in her grac{es} said Court the said the said [=dittography] L{ord} Rob{er}te Dudley hath put to his seale & Subscr{ibed} his name the xxijth daye of October in the fifte yere of o{u}r said soueraigne Ladyes moste gracious Raigne.
