RESEARCH INTERESTS:

• Virulence factors and pathogenesis of human herpes simplex virus and cytomegalovirus using molecular and genetic approaches.
• Developing new therapeutic agents and approaches to combat viral infections.
• The catalytic mechanism of nucleic acid-based enzymes (e.g. ribozymes) and their capability to specifically inhibit viral gene expression and replication.
