I am a graduate student at U.C., Berkeley in the Near Eastern Studies Dept. where my specialization is in Islamic Studies. I am also a distant relative, being descended from Joseph SIMONDS who was born at Cambridge Farms, later Lexington, Mass., 8 June 1689, and died in Ware, Mass., 15 April 1766. He was the son of Joseph SIMONDS (son of William of Woburn) and Mary TIDD, born in Woburn, 13 Nov. 1656, daughter of John TIDD and Rebecca WOOD TIDD, Jr. According to what I have, Joseph SIMONDS (b. 1689) of Lexington and Ware was mentioned in the will of his grandfather, John TIDD. My exact descent is: 1 John TIDD, Sr. (1) 2 John TIDD, Jr. (2) William SIMONDS 3 Mary TIDD b. 13 Nov 1656 m. Joseph SIMONDS 4 Joseph SIMONDS, 5 Joshua, 6 James, 7 Joshua, 8 Charles G., 9 Charles J., 10 Joseph, 11 Wiley, 12 Matthew SIMONDS Anyway, I just thought I would say hello. I am interested in genealogy, too, when I've got the time. I am taking a little break this summer from my dissertation and looking at my genealogy again after about ten years. I hope to hear from you. Your (very distant) cousin, Matthew Simonds
