I am very sorry to hear that Desmond Clark died. One of the last giants of our profession, Desmond and Africa come to mind simultaneously. A kind person, always helps gladly, ready to discuss and to give of his vast knowledge. Desmond was loved by all, and with good reason. He has left behind a magnificent body of data, knowledge and understanding that will remain with prehistorians for ever.
