I remember Desmond's back! He was always the first one up the hill, down the trail, across the tarmac; his receding figure a reminder of the energy, dogged determination and ceaseless curiosity that led him across the globe with us in his wake. It was a privilege to know him and spend time with him, an honor that afforded me new opportunities and shaped much of my life. Thank you Desmond.
