Our nine Regional Trainers (RTs) operate in nine
multi-county regions throughout the state of California.
Their mission is to develop long-term professional
relationships with county alcohol and drug prevention
(ADP) programs and assist in all facets of outcome-based
RTs work directly with the county ADP management
and staff to determine what the county needs to
"get to outcomes." Using the California
State Alcohol and Drug Program's Five
Step approach to prevention, the goal is to
achieve tangible results that measurably reduce
the county's specific AOD problems.
Our RTs hold advanced backgrounds in AOD prevention
planning and delivery. Most have a Master's degree
in a related field such as Public Health, or comparable
work experience, with an average of 15 years working
in the field. They also have an extensive knowledge
of the counties and communities they serve through
years of working with local agencies and organizations.
