• 10/3 - Due to popular demand, Homework 5 has been pushed back. It will now be due FRIDAY, 10/10. However, Homework 6 will STILL be due on Friday, 10/10, so budget your time! The new homework list is up. Also, Midterm solutions will be posted on Monday and Tuesday evening.
• 9/27 - Saturday and Sunday review solutions posted on the exams page.
• 9/26 - Problems for this weekend's review sessions are available in the Reviews section on the Exams page. Remeber, the reviews are this Saturday, 9/27 and Sunday, 9/28 from 2-4 in 1 LeConte. The problems posted will be presented and gone over in the reviews.  Also, HW 4 solutions are now up.
• 9/26 - Exam Info for midterm 1 is available here, and also available on the notes page.
• 9/26 - Conflict? The first exams for Chem 3B and for our class (the Charman - Lecture 2 and Smoot - Lecture 3 sections) conflict (ours goes from 6 to 8 and Chem's goes from 6:30 to 8 if I have been informed correctly) on this upcoming Thursday, 10/2. IF YOU ARE TAKING CHEM3B AND ARE AFFECTED BY THIS, please e-mail Austin at ajh38@berkeley.edu immediately. We are setting up accommodations for you guys and I need to be able to let you know when/where the exam is being held and make sure everyone can make it.

• 9/23 - I've added homework solutions (on the homeworks page), solutions to worksheets T1 through T5 [T6 and T7 will be uploaded this weekend] (on the notes page), a lot of old midterms (on the exams page), and some fun applets for the Carnot Cycle and Maxwell's Demon (at the bottom of the page)!
• 9/13 - Don't forget that Lab 1 is this week!  If you do not have the workbook, you can find Lab 1 on the notes page.  Please print out a copy for yourself before coming to lab!
• 9/13 - I have put up a list of Homework assignments on the notes page and homeworks page, as well as text of problems from the fourth edition that don't appear in the third edition. These files will be updated as more homework assignments are confirmed. Please be sure to read the notes on page 2 of the Assignments file!
• 9/13 - We are moving out of 175 LeConte [except for section 101, unfortunately]. Please check the new section schedule below to see if you've had a change. I tried to e-mail all of you but I may have missed a few.
• 9/9 - Office Hours have been updated!
• 9/6 - If you switched sections at Friday's Section Swap Meet, I am in the process of e-mailing you to confirm the switch. Please review the switch and make sure the section you have gone into is the right one! The Schedule of Sections is available on the Notes page and Below.  The swaps I've made will NOT be reflected on Telebears, but for all intents and purposes, the change has been made!
• 9/6 - Homework 2 is now up.
• 9/2 - I have updated the syllabus to reflect the review and exam rooms for the first two midterms, and I have added a Quiz, Lab, and Exam schedule to the Notes page.
• 9/2 - I have gotten a few questions on this, so here is some info on masteringphysics. Yes, some of the numbers used in masteringphysics are different than the numbers in the book! Please be careful of this if you first do the HW out of the book and then put your answers in MasteringPhysics. Also, not all of the assigned homework problems are available on MasteringPhysics. The problems not available should be done anyway! They will most likely show up in Quizzes and Exams...
• 9/1 - Professor Huang's Specific Course Information is now available on the Notes page.  Even though it lists the deadline as Wednesday, because of the delay we will postpone the due date to Friday, September 5.
• 8/30 - Homework 1 is now available on Mastering Physics.  The rest of the Homework assignments will be posted early next week.  The assignment is listed on the Homework Page.  The text of the problems from Giancoli is available on the Notes page (I'm only going to be typing up the problems for this one assignment!  Better get your books...)
  For Professor Huang's students, I will make an announcement when the Mastering Physics issue has been cleared up.  If you have not already signed in to Mastering Physics, please use the course ID listed on the Homeworks page.

• 8/29 - The Section Swap Meet will be held in 107 LeConte at 4:00 on Friday, September 5.

• 8/29 - MasteringPhysics sites for all three lectures are now live!  For information on how to log in, please see the Homework page.  Homework 1 will be posted Saturday morning.
• 8/29 - We got the bSpace bugs straightened out!  If you still do not see the "Physics 7b, Fall 2008" tab in your bSpace menu, send Austin an e-mail with the subject line "bSpace" and I will add you manually.
• 8/27 - For your first quiz, please READ THROUGH all of the material on the website, especially the General Course Information (all lectures) and the Specific Course Information for your instructor (all available on the Notes page). To get credit for this quiz [yes, it will count for credit!], print out the last page of the Specific Course Information for your instructor, sign the bottom, and bring it to your GSI. The deadline for Quiz 0 will be Friday, September 5.
• 8/26 - IF YOU WANT TO SWITCH SECTIONS!  First, please try to switch through TeleBears.  If you can find a student in a different section who would like to swap sections with you, both of you should send Austin an e-mail with the subject '7B Section Switch - *Your Name* *Current Section* to *Desired Section*, and in the body include your current section, your partner's current section, your SID, and both of your full names.
• 8/26 - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT MASTERING PHYSICS AND THE TEXTBOOKS!  Last semester, a new edition of Giancoli was issued, which is substantially different from edition 3 from previous semesters. The workbook, textbook, and a copy of Mastering Physics are all bundled together. If you are using an old edition of the textbook, not to fear, though! When assigning the homework, I will list the problems as they correspond to *both* edition 3 AND edition 4! You may download and print out on this site a copy of the workbook if you have not been able to purchase one. Information about Mastering Physics is available in the Homework folder on the Homework page.
• 8/26 - The administrative information that should address all of your 7B questions is now available on the Notes page.  A full syllabus will be posted there as well early this week. 
•  8/26 - Please note that this is an Early Drop Deadline course! The last day to drop is Friday, September 5, 2008. You are not allowed to drop the course after this date!  If you haven't signed into at least one of the sign-in sheets for the first three sections, you will be automatically dropped.
