Karen B. Schloss, Ph.D.

I am a postdoctoral fellow in the Palmer Visual Perception and Aesthetics Lab, where I study visual aesthetics and perceptual organization. In visual aesthetics, I am interested in why people like some colors and color combinations more than others, and why people have color preferences at all. In perceptual organization, I am interested in how shape and size perception are influenced by contextual elements within a configuration. Combining these two areas of research, I also study how perceptual organization influences aesthetic preference for color combinations.
