LAB DIRECTOR:

Serena Chen, Ph.D.
serchen@ berkeley.edu


Dr. Chen received her B.A. in psychology from Cornell University and her Ph.D. in experimental social psychology from New York University. Her first tenure-track position was in the Psychology Department at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she spent 3 years as an assistant professor. In 2001, Dr. Chen left the snowy winters of Michigan to join the Psychology Department at UC Berkeley. At Cal, Dr. Chen is the director of the Self, Identity, & Relationships (SIR) Lab. She also teaches social psychology at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as seminars on the self, close relationships, and social cognition.
