SWPS comprises a group of dedicated and enthusiastic people, ranging from graduate students, undergrads, post-docs to administrators.

Lauren Tompkins is now the senior SWPS coordinator, is a second-year physics graduate student studying particle physics as a member of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. Check out her research website. She also moonlights as a bike racer with the Cal Cycling Team and Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club.
Holly Maness is a third-year astronomy graduate student and co- coordinator for SWPS since Fall 2006. She works on a variety of observational research projects and enjoys teaching and singing in her spare time.
Megan Reiter is a fourth year undergraduate double majoring in physics and astrophysics while doing research in astrometric microlensing. Favorite ways to procrastinate include making paper airplanes, looking for interesting things to eat and pondering the following: bad puns, Cal football, food, politics, coffee, next years Halloween costume and bellybutton lint.
Kristina Clark is the current SWPS graphics designer who humors herself as an artist extrodinaire. She is fond of physics, astronomy and everything nerdy.

Hall of Fame:

  • Cindy Keeler
Cindy is a fourth year physics graduate student and co-coordinator for SWPS. Her research is in string theory, particularly theories in two and three spacetime dimensions.
  • Jennifer Hoffman
Jennifer is a post-doc in the astronomy department studying polarized light from supernova explosions. She is collaborating with SWPS as part of an NSF grant to increase the retention of women in the physical sciences. Check out her research and women in astronomy pages.
  • Colette Patt
Colette is director of the Physical Sciences Student Diversity Program for the College of Letters and Sciences. She provides administrative oversight and wisdom for the program.
