Restoring deleted or lost files

Socrates is backed-up nightly between 1am-7am. Only files that have changed are backed-up nightly. Full back-ups of all files on Socrates happen weekly. It is possible to restore erased or lost files from the back-up tapes but there is no guarantee. Since the back-up only occurs once a day, suppose you created a file at 3pm and erased the file at 4pm, there will not be a back-up record of this file.

If you need a deleted or lost file, please send email to:

from your Socrates account with the filename and the date of the file you you would like to be restored.

Note: each Socrates user is ultimately responsible for their own data. Socrates offers restore as a service and is not responsible for lost or corrupt data that may occur.
