Following up on the tremendous success of last
year's "Alternatives for the Americas" conference,
CLAS is hosted another major conference to promote a dialogue between prominent
political and intellectual figures from Brazil and the U.S. Participants
in the conference included David E. Bonior, Democratic Whip, Second Ranking Democrat
in the U.S. House of Representatives and Ruth Cardoso, First Lady of Brazil,
among others.
